2 days to go

Good afternoon! We're on our way back from the beach today. We had a great 4th with Ben's parents and now we are headed back to Yardley to make some last purchases before we drive to VA tomorrow. Ben is picking up his newly tuned up bike, complete with puncture-proof tires! Our plan is to drive to Virginia tomorrow and then officially begin our trip on Friday, after we dip our back tires into the Atlantic Ocean.

We are riding along the TransAmerica Bike Route, which takes us through Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Oregon. We plan to average 70 miles per day with one rest day each week. At that pace we will finish in 2.5 months. We will be stopping at campgrounds at night to sleep and carrying all of our gear on our bikes!

We will try to update the blog as often as possible so you all can follow along on our journey. Thanks to my awesome brother, we have a solar charger for both of our phones. So check back often to see how we are doing! We will be posting pictures too.
